2016 Angullong Shiraz

Colour Deep blackish purple / ruby red.
Aroma Fresh and appealing aromas of blackberry, spice, pepper, liquorice and cigar box.
Palate Generous flavours of ripe dark forrest berry and plum with complex spice and lingering velvety tannins.

Food Matches Char-grilled meat, game, casseroles, cheese.

The fruit was fermented separately in stainless steel fermenters, with twice daily pump-overs to extract colour and flavour. The parcels were then matured in French Oak prior to blending.

Nothing to send you astray. Just a good solid wine. Dried cranberry fruit is met with some sweetish red plum and blackcurrant. Some dried herb aromas take a back seat - very much a fruit driven wine. This is a wine that certainly shows its cool climate roots on the nose with herbaceous, peppery dark plum and blackberry.  The palate starts with a wave of dark fruits, but as that wave subsides there is pepper, graphite and bitter dark chocolate with a touch of bitumen that adds dimension.
